Nhlanhla Nene is making a comeback to the Ministry of Finance.

This follows a cabinet reshuffle announced by President Ramaphosa on Monday night.

Speaking to Bongani Bingwa, Nene says he was informed prior to the Monday night appointments.

When public service calls other things are no longer a priority.

Nene says he needs time to study the budget and understand what informed the budget that was delivered last week Wednesday.

Then Minister of Finance Malusi Gigaba announced that VAT will be increasing by 1%. The decision was widely criticised for its negative effects on the poor.
