Parenting coach Laura Markowtiz says parenting-related WhatsApp groups - meant to heighten communication between parents - could become more of a hindrance than help.

She says most parents, through her blog, have expressed how displeased they are with WhatsApp groups which now have become an annoyance and irritation.

Laura Markowtiz, Parenting coach

Markowtiz emphasises that the WhatsApp group management and control should be well managed by the group admin.

She says the group admin should set the parametres which explains how everyone ought to behave on the group.

We are incredibly busy in our lives, whether we are single parents or not, we are juggling a lot and holding a lot.

Laura Markowtiz, Parenting coach

Even with parenting WhatsApp groups we need to respect that there are boundaries .. we need to be thinking of small ways where we can de-clutter and respect people's boundaries.

Laura Markowtiz, Parenting coach

With the abundance of information in the world lately, some people find the need to constantly share messages.

Markowtiz says there are other platforms where people can share information like the platforms created for engaging with the Education Department and so on instead of sharing on the parenting WhatsApp group.
