ANC briefs media on latest party moves

The African National Congress (ANC) has briefed media on the latest political developments and cadre deployments within the party.

The party’s national executive committee (NEC) recently announced the deployment of members to subcommittees and provinces.

Fikile Mbalula who has been appointed as head of elections at Luthuli House and Senzo Mchunu who has been appointed as the chairperson of organising and campaigns ahead of the 2019 national elections, were both in attendance.

Eyewitness News reporter Clement Manyathela was there.

Some people are saying this is a demotion and he [Fikile Mbalula] says, well if it is a demotion...I am very happy to come and serve the ANC.

Clement Manyathela, EWN political reporter

There has been a lot of talk around the possibilities of the current SG now being minimised by the introduction of Senzo Mchunu as the head of organising.

Clement Manyathela, EWN political reporter

He adds that the media did not receive much clarity on what this role of head or organising and campaigns is going to be.
