Food Lover's Market suspends Lenasia management after apparent racist attack

The Food Lover's Market has suspended three members of the management team at one of its stores in Lenasia, following what appears to be a racially motivated attack.

According to reports, a black worker was attacked with a knife, by a co-worker, for not wearing a Food Lover Market cap while conducting his chores.

Video footage of the assault has been circulated on social media.

Food Lover's Market CEO, Brian Coppin says a criminal case has been opened.

It seems like there was an altercation between two staff members around wearing a cap, and a knife was pulled. Then the security guard got involved, and look, it is just terrible.

Brian Coppin , Food Lover's Market CEO

We were obviously shocked. Its certainly not what we stand for.

Brian Coppin , Food Lover's Market CEO

We immediately suspended all three members. There is an internal investigation at the moment. They have all been criminally charged, the entire management team have been suspended.
