Pikitup: Leave your garbage bins out, we will collect backlog by Saturday

Speaking to Stephen Grootes, Pikitup's Chief Operations Officer, Christa Venter promised residents that Pikitup will collect all the backed up garbage by Saturday evening.

This comes after complaints from listeners that garbage bins have not been collected. Venter said Pikitup has been experiencing problems in all areas and they are working to rectify the matter.

We actually are having problems in all our areas...we actually had a labour union meeting on Tuesday. It's an annual meeting where they had to go a meeting about wage negotiations and unfortunately, that affected all our rounds from Tuesday.

Christa Venter, Pikitup's Chief Operations Officer

She urged residents to leave their bins out as they will collect by Saturday afternoon.

We will definitely come and collect all the waste. We will be up to date by at least 4 o'clock tomorrow afternoon.
