Pick n Pay says some of its own brand products have been affected by the current listeria outbreak.
This comes as Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi revealed on Sunday that scientists had traced the source of the outbreak to Enterprise Foods facilities in Limpopo and Rainbow Chicken Limited (RCL) in the Free State.

It affects a very small number of our own label. Any customer who is concerned that they may have bought a ready-to-eat meat product linked to this outbreak, can and should return it to us.— David North, Group Executive for Strategy at Pick n Pay
He explained what customers should be looking for.
What they need to look for is two things. First of all, if it's a Rainbow or Enterprise labeled product, they look for the Rainbow or Enterprise label. If it's a Pick n Pay sliced meat product, they look at the small white label on the packaging and if it's an Enterprise product, it will have the word Enterprise on it.— David North, Group Executive for Strategy at Pick n Pay
Meanwhile Shoprite Checkers say they are offering refunds to those who've bought affected products.

The outbreak has claimed over 180 lives since January 2017.
