A recovering drug addict from Cape Town is on a mission to remove the stigma attached to addiction.
Fiona has been living in the Mother City for the past 7 years, after coming to South Africa from England for rehab.
She set up Sober & Sexy in a bid to challenge some of the misconceptions surrounding addiction and recovery.
I wanted to portray a more positive side to addicts in recovery. I think there's a common misconception that we're still craving [for drugs] and relapsing, or that we're still using. So I wanted to show that we can be happy and that you wouldn't be able to tell that we were once addicts.— Fiona, founder of Sober & Sexy
For the past two years Fiona has used her love of photography and passion for recovery to put together calendars featuring local addicts posing naked.
Being naked shows we have nothing to hide and that there's no shame about being in recovery.— Fiona, founder of Sober & Sexy
The money raised from the sale of the calendars goes to Cape Town Drug Counselling Centre.
