'Dudu Myeni is trying to run' - Natasha Mazzone

Former SAA board chair Dudu Myeni has been given 24 hours to produce a doctor's note explaining why she is too ill to fly to Cape Town to testify before the Eskom inquiry.

This is the second time Myeni has excused herself after she failed to turn up last week, saying her lawyer needed to appraise himself of proceedings.

The committee plans to conclude the inquiry next week and is still waiting for testimony from Malusi Gigaba, Duduzane Zuma, Myeni and the Gupta brothers.

DA shadow minister of public enterprises and member of the Public Enterprises Committee, Natasha Mazzone says she is appalled by Myeni's actions.

I am absolutely appalled by Miss Myeni's behavior and I think she is too used to having her way. I think that the committee took the right decision in saying that we would write to her and instruct her to come next week and should she turn down our invitation we would have to issue a summons.

This behavior is truly indicative of someone who is trying to run, someone who is trying to hide and truly testing the patience of what I think is already a very patient committee.

Dr Ngubane did not give us satisfactory answers, he ducked an dived to answer. He actually did not answer any questions. He was making statements that were unnecessary to the committee.
