Foreshore freeway project won't alleviate CT's congestion woes - specialist

Transport specialist Dr Lisa Kane says the controversial Foreshore freeway project will not be the panacea for Cape Town's traffic woes.

Dr Kane says inner city roads will not relieve all traffic congestion, and may only transfer it to another point.

She explains that the city's freeway infrastructure needs to catch up to overpopulation.

When we build inner city roads, we simply move one bottleneck from one place to another.
