South Africa is looking attractive to investors again - Economist

Foreign investors are showing a growing interest in South Africa since the resignation of President Jacob Zuma.

That's according to Senior European economist and strategist at Schroders, Azad Zangana.

Zangana is in South Africa to speak at Schroders annual conference being held in Cape Town and Johannesburg.

The good news is that South Africa is reasonably attractive at the moment. Obviously we had a couple of years of political instability and that kept investors away for quite sometime and now things are settling down.

Schroders is a global asset management company which invests through international stock markets.

Speaking to Kieno Kammies, Zangana says things have been looking up for the South African economy recently.

We certainly see a lot of interest now around the world, a lot of investors wanting to invest in South Africa once again.

Zangana also says the ANC's motion to expropriate land without compensation is unlikely to affect them.

We are buying companies more than anything, so unless the companies are affected by this, then it shouldn't really be an issue.
