Nale, a caller from Germiston, says he is not able to bury his deceased family member because the pathology office in Germiston is on strike.
He says he has had to postpone the funeral because the family is unable to get a death certificate without the postmortem. He says he has been trying to get hold of government and the health department specifically for assistance - but to no avail.
Today we are coming to find a solution, they don't even have a solution and they don't know when they will have it. As we speak they said they have about 65 bodies that are still coming and they won't do any postmortem as we speak.— Nale from Germiston
I'm trying to call the department of health and there is no one is interested in helping. They even told me when I called one of the directors; he said to me 'chief; listen here we will help you when we reach to your body.' I don't understand what kind of a government is this. As we speak we need to make final arrangements for our loved ones and nobody cares.— Nale from Germiston
Listen to how Nale says Gauteng health MEC Gwen Ramokgopa can help them with this situation.
