The digital music service Spotify is set to launch in South Africa later this month.
Tech guru Aki Anastasiou says he is thrilled that the world music streaming company is finally coming to this side of the world.
According to Anastasiou, the company has 71 million subscribers around the world and 35 million songs in their database.
It is currently not clear how much South Africans will have to cough up to have Spotify on their devices - but estimations are between R85 - R100 per month.
In the USA, the premium version, where you can listen to as much music as you like, costs around $10 a month and in Europe about €7.
There is a reason why they are the largest in the world, they just have a slight edge in how they do things and they have been there for a long time.— Aki Anastasiou, Tech Guru
The way in which they curate music, that smart engine that they've got is very intuitive ... if you are into 80s music, for example, it might start suggesting other songs that you might like.— Aki Anastasiou, Tech Guru
