Freedom Under Law chairperson Judge Johann Kriegler says new allegations against former Sars senior officials are as baseless.
He's likened them to the allegations of a 'rogue unit' made in 2016, when Tom Moyane was appointed commissioner of Sars and wanted to get rid of senior members.
Kriegler's response follows summons presented to Ivan Pillay, Johann van Loggerenberg and Andries Janse van Rensburg to appear in the Pretoria Regional Court on charges of corruption and contravention of the RICA Act.

It is the same kind of allegation which dates back to 2007 - 2008 and still related to the so-called rogue unit.

In the face of it, it looks like the same kind of hot air promulgated by Tom Moyane and supported by KPMG.

Kriegler says Freedom Under Law will step in to assist those that are abused and have no sufficient legal representation to deal with this kind of cases.
They have since written to President Cyril Ramaphosa to consider suspending NDPP Shaun Abrahams over the NPA's decision to charge the three former Sars officials.
