The Mineral Resources Portfolio Committee says it must appoint an evidence leader before it decides on it's terms of reference for its own inquiry into former Mineral Resources Minister Mosebenzi Zwane and allegations of state capture against him.
There are questions surrounding Zwane's role in facilitating the sale of the Optimum Coal Mine to the Gupta-owned Tegeta firm, his trip to Switzerland with the controversial family and his alleged breach of ethics.
Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Mineral Resources Sahlulele Luzipo spoke to Karima Brown to explain the process of establishing the terms of reference.
Immediately after the Easter period we have to get to task and say this is what we want to lay out. There will be an appointment of an evidence leader. We have to agree together with that evidence leader on how do we collate that evidence and how do we make sure we present the issue of the witnesses.— Sahlulele Luzipo, Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Mineral Resources
We are quite committed to making sure that we remain objective as much as we can.— Sahlulele Luzipo, Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Mineral Resources
