The idea of a white genocide in South Africa has been thrust into the spotlight once more, following Australian Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton's statement that they are finding a way to fast track local white SA farmers visas.
702 Breakfast Show host Bongani Bingwa says that this just perpetuates the notion of a white genocide with doesn't exist.
This notion of a white genocide, I think we need to say clearly, once and for all - it is simply a lie.— Bongani Bingwa, 702 Breakfast host
Bingwa says that people do not look at the facts around farm murders. He says that firstly, the majority of white South Africans are not farmers. This the idea that all farm attacks are generally targeted at white people is false.
He adds that farm attacks should be taken seriously, but must not been seen as an attack on white people only.
It's a stupid idea for anyone to say the farm attacks should not be a matter of concern. They are of great concern. Any murder in South African should be of concern. Any murder any where in the world should be of concern.— Bongani Bingwa, Breakfast Show host
But there are many, many farm attacks that include attacks on farm labourers who are are black, who are coloured and of course white farmers.— Bongani Bingwa, Breakfast Show host
