Living the waterless life: on personal hygiene and saving bath water

There are no particular health risks when sharing bath water says senior manager for the Freshwater Programmes at WWF-SA, Christine Colvin.

Colvin sat down with Eusebius McKaiser to share some of the ways you can cut down on your washing water.

Sharing water, particularity if you have a small bath for your children, there aren't really significant health risks associated with that.

We have also seen some really nice designs with recycling plastic bottles and you can take a hot needle and pierce a couple of shower holes into the bottle top, fill that up and then use that as a shower so that you know exactly how much water you are going to be using. That's quite a fun thing for kids to play with and make.

Getting yourself wet and the soaping up - the water does not have to be running for that. Just run the water for the shortest possible time to wet yourself. do all your washing and then running again to rinse everything off as quickly as possible.
