The High Court in Johannesburg has ordered that the Guptas' aircraft be placed in safe storage at the Lanseria airport pending the outcome of a full application by the Export Development Canada (EDC).
The Guptas leased the private jet using a loan from EDC, a Canadian state-owned bank.
EDC argued that it faces enormous risk for continued association with the Guptas through the loan.
Monday's ruling is an interim order until the main application is heard at a later date, reports EWN's Barry Bateman.
The South African aviation authorities have also been ordered to de-register that particular aircraft and if the aircraft is not registered it cannot operate.— Barry Bateman, EWN reporter
Bateman explains the implications involved if the Gupta's don't comply with the order.
