Hermanus Times editor, Daleen Fouche says the message delivered at the latest mass meeting by authorities was that land is available.
This after days of protests by the community over land, housing, and poor service delivery.
Fouche attended the second meeting held by authorities with the community.
The main message from the authorities to the people attended the meeting was that there are parcels of land available. But these parcels need to go through a process to make them livable and habitable for people to live on.— Daleen Fouche, Hermanus Times editor
One of the parcels of land, for example, is a dump site, she explains and it needs to be rehabilitated.
Fouche says the community frustration is understandable as this process has taken a long time.
