'Guptas, Myeni and Duduzane Zuma may face arrest' - Eskom Inquiry chair

Chairperson of the Parliamentary Inquiry into Eskom, Zukiswa Rantho says former South African Airways chair Dudu Myeni, Duduzane Zuma and three Gupta brothers may face arrest if they do not appear before the committee.

Summons are to be issued by Parliament for the group to respond to allegations of state capture at the parastatal.

The decision to issue summons was taken by the portfolio committee on public enterprises at a closed meeting on Tuesday, this action followed the repeated failure of these individuals to appear before the inquiry on the basis of invitations.

In real terms we are expecting them to pitch. The Gupta's lawyers know where they are.

If they do not come we will therefore have to go to the law enforcement officers and they should issue a warrant of arrest for them to be arrested at anytime they get into South Africa and those that are in South Africa as South Africans, they can be arrested in their residential areas or wherever they are.
