Political Desk: Gigaba to answer questions on Gupta naturalisation

Home Affairs Minister Malusi Gigaba will finally account to the Portfolio Committee on Home Affairs.

This comes after it agreed to hold a full inquiry into the process that led to members of the Gupta family being granted early naturalization.

Political analyst Ongama Mtimka says it is a welcome step in the right direction that Gigaba, and all those involved in the Gupta naturalization, will be held to account.

It's been slightly divided for some time and there were delays in terms of having that committee finally bringing the minister to account. It will be interesting what evidence is in the emails that were brought there and the ANC seems to now be singing from the same song sheet in terms of the importance of having the matter clarified.
