JOHANNESBURG – Vicki Momberg has been handed two years direct imprisonment for her racist rant after the court found her guilty in four counts of crimen injuria.
Momberg was caught on camera shouting racial slurs at a black police officer who was trying to help her after she was involved in an alleged smash and grab.
In her judgment, Magistrate Pravina Raghoonandan told the court that Momberg had not shown remorse or taken responsibility for her actions.
Dressed in black, Momberg stood with her hands in front of her as Raghoonandan explained how she reached her conclusion.
She was sentenced to three years in prison, with one year suspended.
