10 killed on Westen Cape roads over Easter weekend

Six pedestrians are among 10 people killed on roads in the Western Cape since the start of the Easter weekend.

Western Cape Traffic Chief Kenny Africa says it has been a busy few days, with a total of 64 drunk drivers arrested and close to R1 million in fines issued to motorists in the province since Good Friday.

In one instance, a motorist in George was found to be seven times over the legal limit.

The fact that we arrested 64 drunk drivers, if those people would've been on the road and not arrested, I think our fatality figure would've been much higher.
