Angie Motshekga: 'She was fearless and instilled that in us while we were young'
Former ANC Womens League president Angie Motshekga has shared her memories of struggle activist Madikizela-Mandela who has died aged 81.
She was very brave, daring and outspoken. She created a space and an environment outside and inside the ANC of just being and doing what you think of doing without any fear. For me that was one of her greatest contributions, of just being fearless, daring and being who she is.Angie Motshekga, Former ANCWL president
Motshekga says Madikizela-Mandela was a unique character in many ways and served as a role model to other women with her strength of character and determination.
What a powerful woman. If this can be done, the dangers don't matter, the struggle continues and that's the spirit she instilled in us while we were younger. And you could see from her that she was fearless and therefore there is nothing to fear, it's all in the course of work.Angie Motshekga, Former ANCWL president
