Sars collects R1.216 Trillion in revenue, below target

The South African Revenue Service (Sars) has collected R1.216 trillion in revenue for the 2017/2018 tax year, Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene announced on Tuesday at a media briefing.

Speaking to Aubrey Masango on The Afternoon Drive, Kgomotso Modise, EWN reporter said a panel comprising of Nhlanhla Nene, Minister of Finance, Mark Kingon, the acting Sars Commisioner as well as Dondo Mogajane, Director General announcing the much anticipated figures.

Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene did congratulate Sars as well as South Africans for returning and being active and ensuring that they do so and ensuring that their taxes are in order to help the system and to get services going.
