Supporters of the former president are expected to march to the Durban High Court on Friday, where Zuma will face corruption charges related to a $2.5 billion arms deal.

5 000 people from various divisions and organisations, including the Black First Land First, are expected to demonstrate.

Eyewitness News reporter Ziyanda Ngcobo shared details on the two-day event.

The big one is tomorrow where 5000 people are expected, in terms of who is organising this, there are various groups. The BLF is on board, 23 business forums under the banner of the Champions of Radical Economic Transformation, religious groups.

Their position here is to say the former president is being attacked, he is being prejudiced because he is a champion or radical economic transformation.

Ziyanda Ngcobo, EWN reporter

It would be interesting to see how many people might defy the ANC's rule to say you may go and support the president in your personal capacity but do not wear ANC regalia because they have not full backed him as an organsiation.

Ziyanda Ngcobo, EWN reporter

Ngcobo says the South African Communist Party and The Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) will not be participating.
