'Winnie Madikizela-Mandela worked hard to build the SA brand we have today'

Brand SA CEO Dr Kingsley Makhubela says anti-apartheid struggle icon Winnie Madikizela-Mandela left a good legacy and a significant brand.

Madikizela-Mandela past away last week after a long illness.

He says through her sacrifices, she played a major role in creating the brand that South Africa has today.

Winnie Mandela is an embodiment of a woman who suffered so much, was isolated so much and at the end helped us to pave the Constitution we today have.

She left a legacy for us, of things we should do and things we shouldn't do...

Makhubela also touched on allegations that Madikizela-Mandela was involved in Stompie Seipei's murder and that now evidence has emerged that she was not involved.

He asks why people are only now speaking out about how she didn't have anything to do with the 14-year-old member of the Mandela United Football Club's murder in 1989.

Why didn't they raise those issues during the TRC commission?
