Police following 'strong' leads in search for Sun City prison escapees

The Correctional Services Department says its confident the 16 remand prisoners who escaped from the Johannesburg Correctional Centre, also known as Sun City, will be found and re-arrested.

The group broke through the iron bars of the prison windows, broke a part of the wall and then escaped through the fence on Monday morning.

National spokesperson for Correctional Services Singabakho Nxumalo says police are following strong leads in their search for the escapees.
