De Lille in hot water for attending EFF's memorial for Mam'Winnie

It seems the DA's Patricia De Lille is in hot water with the party once again.

She's under fire for speaking at an EFF event held in memory of the late Winnie Madikizela-Mandela on Wednesday.

Everyone can understand that she would wish to be part of a memorial service for Mam'Winnie, because this is a huge icon that has passed on.

The problem is that we have a protocol in the party that if you do this, appear on the platform for other political parties, you should, at the very least, inform us.

James Selfe, DA chairperson for Federal Council

It's a bit like the bosses at 702 waking up one morning and you were broadcasting on another station.

Selfe says De Lille had failed to communicate that she would be attending the EFF event, rather than the official state event held in Soweto.

We will write to her and ask her to explain why she did this, and to ask her to follow protocol in the future.
