The body of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela will return to her Soweto home for the final time today.
The family of the late struggle stalwart have asked members of the public to form a guard of honour for Mam'Winnie who died last week Monday at the age of 81.
We've asked that people line up along the road from the Kopane Funeral Parlour and proceed from Sofasonke Street all the way to Masedi Street at Winnie Madikizela-Mandela's home.— Victor Dlamini, Family spokesperson
We would like people to form a guard of honour for her, because many people had expressed their wish to come to the house but it's not possible, you can't have so many people at once.— Victor Dlamini, Family spokesperson
Dlamini says the community has been very supportive and has given the family the space they had asked for and he believes they will do the same today.
Madikizela-Mandela will be laid to rest tomorrow after a public funeral at Orlando Stadium where President Ramaphosa is expected to deliver the eulogy.
