The Ivory Coast also known as Côte d'Ivoire is one of many African countries that is proving to be a growing success.
In this week's Africa Connected, Lee Kasumba visits Abidjan to explore it's government's biggest business pursuits and investments.
One of the country's biggest projects is in collaboration with South African based company Nautic Africa which recently launched six ferries in Abidjan in a deal with CITRANS.
This deal is valued at about R 347 million and so part of the deal is that there would be 18 ferries made in Cape Town and they shipped out to Côte d'Ivoire.— Lee Kasumba, host of Africa State of Mind
It's created jobs with regards to managing the lines and the ferries, for the average Ivorian. CITRAN has only been in business since September 2017 and already by the end of 2018 they will probably have about 200 full time staff working with them. That is how fast things are growing.— Lee Kasumba, host of Africa State of Mind
