Eskom is assuring South Africans that there won't be load shedding this winter.
Eskom spokesperson, Khulu Phasiwe says they are diverting coal from stations that have adequate supply to those that are running low.
Phasiwe says 6 of their stations do not have adequate supply of coal at the moment.
We are working on managing that so we don't have a situation of power shortages in South Africa.— Khulu Phasiwe, Eskom spokesperson
Phasiwe says they have contacted Treasury to make sure they get additional sources of coal. He says three of the stations affected are those being supplied by Gupta owned Tegeta.
They have declared an emergency and that process is underway where they are trying to get someone who can run that process while they are still sorting their own issues there.— Khulu Phasiwe, Eskom spokesperson
We are doing everything possible not to go to the stage of load shedding. Load shedding is always a possibility.— Khulu Phasiwe, Eskom spokesperson
