Family warned Karabo Mokoena several times to leave Mantsoe, court hears

The murder trial of Sandile Mantsoe, accused of killing his girlfriend Karabo Mokoena, burning her body and dumping it in a veld last year April, is continuing in the High Court in Johannesburg.

According to EWN reporter Kgomotso Modise, Mokoena's sister Bontle Mokoena took to the witness stand, speaking of the last time she saw her as she was leaving home to go to a party.

Bontle also gave an account of the relationship between Mantsoe and her sister, how it initially looked like any other normal relationship but later heard of how her sister was treated with so much disregard.

She also complained about how Sandile had been abusive towards her...

She says Karabo was warned multiple time by her and their mother that this man will kill you. Why don't you leave him?

Modise says Mantsoe's family sat emotionless in court while Bontle was describing an account of how they had searched for her sister and had even asked Sandile if he had killed her.

She said later the police told them that Sandile confessed to have sacrificed Karabo for a business deal he was involved in.
