Sassa card pilot project lauched in WC with Sapo

A pilot project to roll out new Sassa cards at selected Post Offices in the Western Cape has been launched this week.

It's part of a partnership between Sassa and South African Post Office where recipients will be able to apply for the new cards.

A country-wide roll out is expected by the end of September. Read: There is a contingency plan in place to make sure grants are paid - Sassa

The new system incorporates a lot of services that were previously done by our payment service provider, Cash Paymaster Services.

Those who still have the old Sassa cards are being told not to worry, as their cards will still work.

The card is operational and it will work till the end of December 2018. in the meantime we will be rolling out this new system and issuing the new cards.

Beneficiaries can start making applications for new cards at Sassa offices nationwide by the end of April.
