Police in Johannesburg is investigating two shootings on the city's major roads on Wednesday. In the first instance, a man was gunned down in peak hour traffic on the M2. The second shooting happened on the M1 North, both on Wednesday afternoon.
Speaking to Thembekile Mrototo on The Midday Report, EWN Reporter, Mandy Weiner said it is too early to say whether the shootings were hits or just random shootings.
The one on the M2, we haven't got any details about that yet, however the one on the M1 North in Glenhove, we understand that the victim in that incident who is a Pakistani national in his 50s who lived in Centurian - and that it is related to a Hawala money exchange scheme operating at the Oriental Plaza.— Mandy Weiner, EWN Reporter

According to eyewitnesses, there were three gunmen. They parked on the verge on the side of the highway and walked through rush hour traffic and were specifically were searching for that white A4 that he was in, they shot out the tyres and they shot the victims and we understand there was a second person in the car who is in ICU.— Mandy Weiner, EWN Reporter
