Gauteng MEC for Health Dr Gwen Ramokgopa says because of strained financial resources there was no money to pay bonuses or 2016-2017.
She says they are aware of the situation at Charlotte Maxeke Hospital and are working tirelessly to resolve it.
This comes after Nehawu cancelled its planned Wednesday strike to protest unpaid overtime worked.
We are looking at ways and means of resolving the matter. There is no reason whatsoever to put the lives of others in danger. Dr Ramokgopa says they have initiated investigations into the vandalism that took place last week. She says if any of their workers were involved, due processes will be followed.
