MUT student shot dead allegedly by ex-boyfriend
A 23-year-old suspect has been arrested for allegedly murdering his ex-girlfriend at the Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT).
The girlfriend, a MUT student, was shot dead front of her roommate on Tuesday night.
It's understood the victim had been trying to break up with her boyfriend, the alleged killer, for at least two weeks.
Eyewitness News (EWN) reporter Ziyanda Ngcobo says police confiscated an unlicensed firearm from the scene.

Police are saying he is likely to appear in the Durban Magistrate's court either tomorrow or Friday. From what we understand he didn't resist the arrest and handed himself over.Ziyanda Ngcobo, EWN reporter
