The ANC Youth League has joined a growing list of organisations demanding the resignation of ANC MP Mduduzi Manana for allegedly assaulting another woman.

Christine Wiro, Manana's former domestic worker, has accused him of pushing her down stairs at his home this past weekend.

She opened, then withdrew, a case at the Douglasdale police station.

Manana accuses the Wiro family of trying to extort R100 000 from him.

A video recording, believed to be of Manana offering the Wiro’s money to drop the charges against him, later emerged.

Joanne Joseph interviewed EWN’s Mia Lindeque.

Bathabile Dlamini wants both parties to work with the police…

It appears that Manana offered R100 000… and another job…

The case that Christine Wiro wanted to withdraw, has not been withdrawn… The case is still up for consideration.

Mia Lindeque, EWN

Manana says the video is evidence of the family asking him for this money… it seems as if he says that he is the victim, and not Christine Wiro… But we understand that she has been intimidated… she is fearing for her life… so far he has not laid a case with the police…
