President Cyril Ramaphosa has sent a notification to the office of the chairperson of the NCOP, Thandi Modise, stating that the national government will be intervening in the governance of the North West province.

A letter was sent on Friday to the administration informing them they are going to invoke section 100 of the Constitution subsection 1. It has basically two parts; A and B.— Theo Venter, Political Analyst from North West University
The A part is when you disband a province. In other words, stop the legislature and you call for new elections therefore replacing a political head.— Theo Venter, Political Analyst from North West University
