EWN reporter, Monique Mortlock says the judgment on whether Patricia de Lille's DA membership and mayorship of the City of Cape Town will remain in place for the next two weeks or not, will be heard tomorrow.
Mortlock says De Lille's lawyers want the judge to give her the DA membership and her mayorship just for the next two weeks until 25 May when a full court bench will review the main parts of the application which deals with the fairness or the constitutionality of the DA's constitution.
The DA used the cessation clause against her, in terminating her membership because of the interview she did with Eusebius McKaiser on 702 where she stated that she will resign or walk away from the DA, reports Mortlock.
The DA then used that, because in its clause it says that if a member publicly declares that he/she will resign the membership is effectively terminated. De Lille is now challenging that clause.— EWN reporter, Monique Mortlock
Mortlock says that the acting mayor of the city of Cape Town Ian Neilson is waiting for tomorrows judgment before he again announces his interim mayoral committee.
