Nehawu's Khaya Xaba says the union, which has threatened mass action, is frustrated by the slow pace of dealing with concerns.

Members of trade union Nehawu have given North West leadership 24 hours to respond to the trade union’s demands or face a shutdown of services.

Public servants plan to embark on march in the North West over the collapse of government in the province.

The union has led a go-slow which has led to the distributions of services, especially at health care facilities.

Nehawu spokesperson Khaya Xaba says the union is frustrated by the slow pace of dealing with their concerns.

The collapse of the provincial government and the department of health has adversely affected our members.

Khaya Xaba, Nehawu spokesperson

Over the weekend, President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that government has taken over the administration of the North West.

Members have gathered at the Montshioa Stadium, reports EWN's Masechaba Sefularo.

They are expected to march to the provincial legislature to deliver a memorandum of demands, she explains.

Nehawu expect to hand over a memorandum of demands to Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, who is leading the inter-ministerial team that is tackling issues of governance in the North West province.

The national leadership of Nehawu say that the provincial government has not taken their grievances seriously.
