Addicted to your smartphone? There's a new app for that

There's a new app that aims to break your smartphone addiction.

The app, called Siempo, wants to wean you off from your device and its numerous attention-stealing apps, explains Technobyte presenter Aki Anastasiou.

Siempo replaces your phone's home-screen and removes all distractions such as pop-up alerts and notifications, according to your custom settings.

Statistics indicate that the app has the potential to reduce daily smartphone usage by 30%, Anastasiou advises.

Siempo is currently only available for Android users.

There's a dopamine-driven feedback loop that creates the cycle of smartphone addiction.
