Susan Rohde committed suicide, Jason Rohde tells the court

Accused wife killer, Jason Rohde continued giving his testimony in the second day of his trial in the Western Cape High Court.

He is accused of strangling his wife Susan in a hotel room at the Spier Wine Farm in Stellenbosch in July 2016.

He claims she committed suicide in the bathroom.

According to EWN reporter Shamiela Fisher, Rohde gave accounts of the night his wife died. He says they had argument after she realised he was still having an affair with his co-worker.

There was constant arguing which became volatile and ugly. He says at some point he tried to leave the hotel room but she prevented him for doing so by standing in front of the door. There was a lot of pushing and pulling...

In one incident, he says, he used the front part of his arm, as she was grabbing him from behind and it swirled, instead of pushing her hands away, it made contact with her face.

Fisher says Rohde did not show emotions as he was explaining what really transpired. She says he has been very thorough in explaining what happened, sticking to his version of the story

He hasn't really changed his story at all but obviously his side of the story will have to be cross examined.
