Meet Phumzile Langeni, tasked by the President to raise R1.2trillion (TRILLION!)

You may or may not have heard of Phumzile Langeni, but she has one of the most important – and toughest – jobs in South Africa.

President Cyril Ramaphosa recently asked her to join his special presidential envoy to crisscross the planet looking for investments.

She will join former Minister of Finance Trevor Manuel, former Deputy Finance Minister Mcebisi Jonas and former Standard Bank head Jacko Maree in a hunt for R1.2 trillion in new investments in the next five years.

Besides her terrifyingly vital jobs as Presidential Investor Emissary, Langeni is also the Executive Chairperson of Afropulse and Chairperson at Primedia Limited.

The Money Show’s Bruce Whitfield interviewed Langeni for his weekly “ShapeShifter” feature.
