Research suggests 1 in 10 men worldwide suffer with paternal post natal depression.

It is definitely a recognised medical condition and the more we learn about it the more we realise how common it is.

Post partam depression is very different to the baby blues. The baby blues refers to the 3-5 days after the baby arrives when many [women] are tearful and emotional because of their hormones.

And according to psychologists the effects of paternal post natal depression have just as much effect on children, as moms suffering with PND.

But experts say help, and treatment, is out there.

Psychotherapy is a really great form of treatment for those with milder depression.

It's really only people who have more moderate to severe depression who need medication.

It's also important to remember that anti-depressants and extremely safe and effective in treating depression.
