ANC calls for disciplinary action against FS mayor over Ramaphosa comment

The African National Congress (ANC) has called for disciplinary action against a Free State mayor for her comment on President Cyril Ramaphosa.

ANC mayor in Dihlabeng Local Municipality, Lindiwe Kambule Makhalema is in hot water after screenshots emerged of her response to a Facebook post asking members of a closed group called 'Loyal ANC Members' to name the “biggest stinking sellout”.

Describing it as an insult and personal attack on the President, the ANC has taken the matter up with its provincial executive committee.

Eyewitness News reporter Clement Manyathela has more on the story.

They are stating their social media policy that was adopted at the conference in December which essentially prohibits members from using inflammatory language. In fact, it says when you are about to post something on social media it must be respectful, legal and ethical. The ANC believes she has contravened this policy.
