Mazibuko's Apolitical Academy 'best news' for politics: Bongani Bingwa

She announced earlier this week that she was opening an academy for political studies.

Lindiwe Mazibuko maintains the idea came to her while teaching a class at the prestigious Harvard University in Boston.

The former DA Parliamentary leader says it may also be for those who do have an ideological 'bent' but don't know how to get started in the process.

What makes her initiative so impressive is that it also seeks to place candidates in a dynamic environment in which there is a diversity of views and not the navel-gazing we often see in various parties.

Blind loyalty is the ultimate disservice to friends and family. It's the ultimate indication that your relationship is tenuous and won't survive the hard times. In politics it is suicidal. It leads not only to the ruin of the very person you think it aids but your own.
