How to deal with the grief of losing a spouse

Grieving is different for every individual.

The five stages of grief (denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance) only serve as guidelines for support and do not occur in a linear order, says clinical therapist Lori Shifrin.

The bereaved should find support from other loved ones in order to deal with the administrative and logistical matters, Shifrin advises.

It's important to get friends and family on board that can support you through it.
