The SPCA has laid charges against two men who were allegedly involved in the horrific abuse of a Cape Fur seal pup.
The attack was caught on camera and video footage posted on Facebook showing two brutally attacking the young animal.
Colette Mang, chair of the Swartland and West Coast SPCA, says the men will be charged in terms of the Animal Protection Act.
She says the SPCA received tip-offs from community members in Velddrif, Laaiplek, who helped identified the perpetrators.
According to Mang, the video appears to have been taken several months ago.
The probe involves the Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism, the SPCA and police.
