JHB waste collectors offered recycling training

Waste pickers and collectors in Johannesburg are being offered specialist training aimed at helping collectors make their businesses more sustainable.

The four day course by the Paper Recycling Association of South Africa focuses on business training and the process of recycling.

It comes as The City has announced that recycling will be compulsory for every household in the Johannesburg.

This is a course that takes them through introductory business training, basic business finance, business plan and communication and understanding the different paper grades from the cardboard boxes, office paper, news and magazines.

Choles says they have been able to introduce the initiative with the support of government.
