Pretoria - President Cyril Ramaphosa has appointed a high-level review panel to assess the mandate, capacity and organisational integrity of the State Security Agency (SSA).
The President announced in May that he would be setting up the review panel of security and intelligence experts.
The panelists include former safety and security minister Sydney Mufamadi.
Ray White spoke to Spokesperson the Presidency Khusela Diko to find out more.
There are challenges that have been picked up - issues of over concentration of authority for example on office of the accounting officer. It is those various factors that the President wants the panel to identify as perhaps being some of the material causes for the challenges that we have experienced and how then do we ensure that they do not occur in future.— Khusela Diko, Presidency Spokesperson
Ramaphosa has also appointed former Minister of Defence, Mr Charles Nqakula, as his National Security Adviser.
